Terms and conditions
In short: have fun and make music. The beats you make are yours. The sounds, loops and packs are licensed to you for making music in the apps, not for taking out and giving away or selling on their own. In Trigger Tempo Pro, packs you buy are yours to keep, adverts unlock a pack for 3 days, and the All packs subscription can be cancelled any time in Google Play.
1. About these terms
These terms apply to Trigger Tempo Kids and Trigger Tempo Pro ("the apps"), made by Trigger Tempo ("we", "us"). By installing or using the apps you agree to them. If a child uses Trigger Tempo Kids, a parent or guardian should read these terms and agree to them on the child's behalf. Our privacy policy explains how information is handled.
2. Your licence to use the apps
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the apps on devices you own or control, in line with these terms and Google Play's terms.
3. Who owns what
The apps and everything in them, including the software, design, characters (such as Mochi, Ziggy, Boom and Riff), lessons, packs, loops, samples and sound library ("the Content"), are owned by us or licensed to us. Some sounds were made with AI audio tools, including Stable Audio by Stability AI, and then chosen and edited by us. Open-source software and fonts used in the apps are listed on the Licences page in the apps.
4. The beats you make
The beats, patterns, mixes and recordings you create in the apps ("your beats") are yours. You may play them, keep them and share them. With Trigger Tempo Pro you may also use your beats in your own music, including music you release, as long as you follow section 5.
5. What you may not do with the Content
You may use the Content only to make music with the apps. You may not:
- copy, extract or export the sounds, samples, loops or packs on their own, in their original form or lightly changed;
- sell, give away, share, upload or distribute the Content on its own, for example as a sample pack, sound library, loop kit, ringtone collection or preset bank, or include it in another app, game or product;
- claim the Content as your own work, or register it with a content identification or copyright service (such as YouTube Content ID);
- copy, change, reverse engineer or resell the apps, or get around the pack store, except where the law allows this.
Using a sound as part of your own finished beat or song is fine. Taking the sounds themselves and passing them on is not.
6. Trigger Tempo Kids
Trigger Tempo Kids is free and made for children, with a grown-up's permission. It has no adverts, no in-app purchases, no chat and no sharing, and all its packs are included.
7. Trigger Tempo Pro and its packs
Trigger Tempo Pro is free to download and comes with a set of free packs. Other packs can be unlocked in these ways:
7.1 Buying a pack
A pack you buy (for example for £0.99) is yours to use for as long as you have the app, on any Android device signed in to the same Google account. It isn't a subscription and doesn't renew. Downloading it needs an internet connection; once downloaded it plays offline. If you delete it, or move to a new device, you can download it again free of charge (use Restore purchases if needed).
7.2 Watching an advert
You can watch an advert to unlock one pack of your choice for 3 days. When the 3 days end, the pack locks again (sounds from it that you swapped into other packs go back to their own sounds), and you can watch another advert or buy it. You must watch the advert to the end to unlock the pack.
7.3 The All packs subscription
- The subscription unlocks every pack in Trigger Tempo Pro, including new packs as they are added, and removes adverts. It costs £5.99 a month or £39.99 a year (UK prices, including VAT; prices in other countries are shown in Google Play before you pay).
- Free trial: new subscribers can get a 7-day free trial, where Google Play offers it. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged.
- Renewal: the subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year and Google Play charges you, until you cancel.
- Cancelling: you can cancel at any time in Google Play (Play Store › your profile › Payments and subscriptions › Subscriptions), or from Manage subscription in the app. You keep All packs until the end of the period you have paid for. Uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription.
- When it ends: packs that came with the subscription lock again. Packs you bought stay yours, and your saved beats stay on your device.
- Price changes: if the price changes, Google Play will tell you in advance, and you can cancel before the new price applies.
7.4 Payments, refunds and your rights
All payments are taken and managed by Google Play under Google Play's terms. Refunds are handled by Google Play (see Google Play's refund policy); you can also contact us. If you are in the UK or the EU you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase of digital content, but this right ends once a pack starts downloading or a pack is unlocked, because you ask for it to be supplied straight away. If something you bought is faulty or doesn't work as described, you are entitled to a repair, replacement or refund under consumer law. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights.
7.5 Changes to packs
We add new packs regularly and may improve existing ones. We won't remove a pack you bought from your purchases. In the rare case that we have to stop offering a pack (for example for legal reasons), we will try to make sure that if you already downloaded it, it keeps working.
8. Updates
We may update the apps to fix problems, improve them or add packs and features. Some updates may change or remove features. We will try to keep your saved beats working after updates.
9. No warranty
We work hard to make the apps reliable, but provide them "as is". To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that they will always be available, work without interruption or be free from errors. Please keep your own copies of any beats that matter to you.
10. Our responsibility to you
To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the apps. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
11. Ending these terms
You can stop using the apps at any time by uninstalling them (and cancelling any subscription in Google Play). If you break these terms, in particular section 5, your licence to use the apps and the Content ends.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The new version will have a new effective date, be published here and be included in the apps. If you keep using the apps after an update, the updated terms apply. Changes won't take away a pack you have bought.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If any part of them is found to be invalid, the rest still applies. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you also keep the protection of the consumer laws where you live.
